J.Roberts Solid Fuel Services - Chimney Repair and Stove Installations Carlow: We are based in Clonegall, Co.Carlow and cover the areas of Carlow, Wexford and South Wicklow. We offer a fitting and repair service on all solid fuel stoves and cookers and we also do chimney repairs, and can help you resolve any issues you might be having with your chimney, from fire damage to relining, or replacing your fireplace and installing your new stove.

A clean chimney is a safe chimney and we are fully insured and will give you a certificate of cleaning which we issue with each sweep, and can guarantee to you that no mess will be left after we leave.

With winter coming on very fast, all thoughts are turning to keeping warm and cosy, so make sure you book us your Qualified and Experienced Chimney Sweeps before lighting your stove or open fire and not receive a visit from us when it's too late.

When you burn wet or unseasoned wood and don't have your chimney swept regularly.
it causes a sticky creosote tar to be formed and even when good wood is burned its ash will stick to the creosote tar. This can happen in a matter of weeks and leave you exposed to potential carbon monoxide poisoning as the flue is too narrow to work properly and have a proper draft.

Fuels such as gas, oil, solid mineral fuel and biomass all have the potential to emit Carbon monoxide, so always make sure that you have a Carbon Monoxide Alarm fitted and checked regularly to make sure that it is working, you can not see it, taste it or smell it but it can be fatal.
