Based in Ballina, Co. Tipperary, Ireland Art of Glass make and restore Stained Glass windows in the traditional tried and trusted way using techniques dating back over 1000 years.
Each commission is individually tailored to the clients requirements, whether domestic, commercial or ecclesiastic. every piece of glass is individually cut using a large variety of colours and textures.
Proprietor James Ryan-Scanlon has over 30 years experience in designing, making and restoring Stained Glass panels and is available to advise and discuss your project large or small.

Example - c1820 Commission
The picture on the left shows a commission of the main entrance of a c1820 property in Sollihull, in the UK. The surrounding frame of the doorway is original, the owners commissioned me to do a lighter but matching set of windows for the opening doors that would work in harmony with the original without being as dark as the original. This kept the overall feel of the original but also allowed more light in.

James Ryan-Scanlon is the owner operator of the business and brings 30 years of experience to each and every job. James started the Art of Glass in England in 1990 and operated successfully since then. During this time James completed large scale restoration on churches, many English heritage sites, Birmingham's Childrens Hospital and St. Michaels Hospital Warwick. Over the years, James has successfully completed well over 1,000 commissions.
Rectory New Design and Installation
The picture on the left was a new design in the Victorian style to the ceiling of a rectory of a Georgian building in a small village on the Welsh border.
The rectory itself was c1800, the owner was a well known photographer and set about restoring the building keeping as much as possible to the original.
